Pyrmont is firming as a likely site for a new metro train station as the NSW government is set to release within days the latest plans for taller buildings and other larger scale developments in the suburb near the Sydney CBD.
Sydney Metro will finalise transport and economic modelling for a potential Pyrmont station over the coming months.
Improving public transport links to Pyrmont, which is one of Australia’s most densely populated suburbs, is considered key to further urban development. Before the coronavirus pandemic, patronage on the Inner West light rail line, which runs through Pyrmont, was near capacity during peak periods.
