NSW first-home buyers set to save tens of thousands of dollars in stamp duty

First-home buyers in New South Wales will be granted increased stamp duty exemptions and concessions from the start of July, after legislation passed state parliament on Thursday.

The First Home Buyers Assistance Scheme raises the threshold for stamp duty exemptions for first home buyers from $650,000 to $800,000, and stamp duty concessions from $800,000 to $1 million.
