Housing Australia welcomes the Australian Government’s expansion of the Home Guarantee Scheme, which will provide unlimited places and increased property price caps to help more Australians buy their first home sooner.
From 1 October 2025, the Scheme will remove caps on the number of Government guarantees available, allowing all eligible first home buyers to enter the market with as little as a 5% deposit and avoid Lenders Mortgage Insurance.
This expansion delivers on the Government’s election commitment to make home ownership more accessible for Australians.
